International Management Part-Time - MBA

Tailor-made management skills for high potential talents

The MBA Part-Time programme prepares you for management tasks in an international context. You can continue to work and maintain your work-life balance while preparing for your next career step on a part-time basis.

  • Economic competence for non-economists
The degree programme teaches management skills while incorporating your professional experience.

  • Study while working
You will work in a concentrated and manageable way on subject areas that build on each other - during a maximum of eight weekends and one block week per semester.

  • International partner institutions
During the integrated module abroad of optionally one to four weeks, you will build up an international network at one of the renowned partner universities in addition to the ESB network.

Further advantages:

  • The ESB Business School is AACSB accredited - a seal of quality that only five percent of all business schools worldwide achieve. We have top rankings.

  • Your complete course of study is guided by a competent team of programme coordinators and you receive individual coaching as part of online seminars.

Our application portal will be open from November 2024.

Work full-time - and develop your career

The part-time International Management MBA programme provides broad-based knowledge with a focus on strategy, business development, marketing, digitalisation, sustainability, leadership and international negotiation skills.

Structure and content

You start your studies in September or March. On a maximum of eight weekends of attendance per semester, our programme provides everything you need for professional and personal development.

Lecture times are usually:
Friday 3:30–9:30 pm
Saturday 8:30 am–3:30 pm

For intensive interaction with the lecturers and for student exchange, we hold a block week once a semester. The block week is eligible for education leave in Germany (Bildungsurlaub).

For some years now, we have been building on a modern blended learning arrangement: online seminars offer space for individual coaching and repetition in the form of recaps during the evenings, thus complementing the attendance phases.

Study plan

Modular structure

All subjects are taught in subject blocks - called modules - and conclude with an examination. We distinguish between Core Modules (compulsory modules) and Electives (optional modules), which you can put together individually.

  • Market-Oriented Management
  • Managerial and Financial Accounting
  • Negotiating across Borders
  • Business Research Methods
  • Economics & Finance
  • Strategic & Sustainable Management
  • Leadership & Change
  • Digitisation & Entrepreneurship
  • Business Process Management Simulation
  • International Business Law

In our MBA programme, we place particular emphasis on a high degree of individualisation and flexibility. A broad spectrum of electives ensures the option of an individual focus within the degree programme.

The electives are distributed over semesters 2 to 4, so that a stay abroad can also be flexibly integrated during this period. Since some of the electives are offered online, it is also easier to organise your studies and accommodate various preferences.

Private study

What you learn in class will be reinforced in private study using the learning materials. We make all documents, case studies, videos and links available via a learning portal.

Online seminars, which our teachers usually offer in the evening, support you in your studies at home.

Study abroad

The internationality of graduates is an important qualification goal in the MBA programme. Therefore, a compulsory stay abroad is planned. Duration (one to four weeks) and timing are flexible and thus tailored precisely to the situation of working professionals.

We currently have nine partner universities in our portfolio:

All universities are guided by high quality standards. Almost all partners are AMBA and/or AACSB accredited.

The list of partner universities is constantly being expanded.

I learned that often there is not just one right answer. Rather, there are many different possibilities, and we have to carefully assess and weigh up the advantages and disadvantages of each one.
