Admission requirements

The requirement for admission is a university degree in the fields of business engineering, mechanical engineering, process engineering, production engineering or comparable fields of engineering with at least 210 ECTS or equivalent.

Additionally:

  • A passed German language test if the university degree was not obtained in a German-language degree programme or the mother tongue is not German. (More information on the required German language skills and other valid language certificates can be found at: https://www.reutlingen-university.de/vor-dem-studium/bewerbung/internationale-bewerber/
  • Proven English language skills of qualification level B2, unless the university degree was obtained in an English-language degree programme (at least 50%) or the mother tongue is English.
    • TOEFL, IELTS or Cambridge Certificate or equivalent language certificates at the corresponding level are recognised as language tests.

Das zweite Semester absolvieren Sie verpflichtend im Ausland an einer unserer Partnerhochschulen:  Bei Wahl des Moduls 3A an der Stellenbosch University in Südafrika; bei Wahl des Moduls 3B an der Purdue University in den USA. Nach der Einführungsphase werden die Vorlesungen sowie die Forschungsprojekte und -seminare parallel durchgeführt.

In the MSc Digital lndustrial Management and Engineering (DIME) study program, places are awarded according to the results of a selection procedure.

Participants in the selection process are those who meet the admission requirements and have applied for a study place in due time and form in accordance with the General Admission Statutes of Reutlingen University.

In the course of the selection procedure (step 2), applicants are asked, in addition to submitting various proofs and documents, to prepare a short exposé (1-2 pages) and upload it to the application portal (also step 2).

In the Digital Industrial Management and Engineering research master's program, students each work on their own research project in the course of their studies in areas such as smart factory and logistics, work system design, advanced lndustrial Engineering, smart maintenance, digital logistics system planning, international production networks, sustainable production, circular economy, human-machine collaboration, digital production planning, digital store floor management, artificial intelligence, Industry 4.0 or digital twin. With Werk150, the factory of ESB Business School on the campus of Reutlingen University, which is equipped with modern IoT technology such as automation, 5G and Industry 4.0 technology, students have access to an extensive research infrastructure to implement their research.
