From bears to model aeroplanes
On Saturday 4 May, Reutlingen University opened its doors and welcomed people to its Open Day. The ESB Business School joined in with a diverse range of events and exclusive insights into life at the school.
Cheerleaders from the BSc International Business degree programme were a special highlight of the day. As well as showing off their throws, lifts and even a South American dance routine, the team had brought reinforcement to help with the choreography – the ESB Bear himself took to the dance floor, much to everyone’s delight.
The many taster lectures were rather less noisy, but just as fascinating. In these action-packed sessions, professors from the ESB Business School offered glimpses into topics such as game theory and artificial intelligence. The ESB Business School team also gave introductory talks explaining how a university of applied sciences actually works.
Visitors were also able to attend taster lectures and get advice at Werk150, the ESB’s on-campus factory. Here, they also had the opportunity to get actively involved, making model aeroplanes and toasting sandwiches with the help of robots. Our youngest visitors were above all delighted by our little ‘Ozobots’ – our learning robots.
Prospective students and families alike took the Open Day as an opportunity to get to know the ESB Business School better. In face-to-face talks, they learned all about our Bachelor’s, Master’s and MBA degree programmes. Insights from many ESB students who totally entered into the spirit of the day were especially helpful. The ESB Business School’s Open Day programme was further enriched by events such as an English-language campus tour and the Knowledge Café, plus the Culture & Charity and ESB Cycling for Charity stands.
