New school board elected

Professor Dr Markus Conrads remains Dean of ESB Business School

The Business School at Reutlingen University has reorganised its management team. On March 19th, the School Council confirmed in office the incumbent Dean of ESB Business School, Professor Dr Markus Conrads. He is now also responsible for the school’s research activities.

He will be supported by his fellow board members Professor Dr Anna-Lena Kotzur, who was also re-elected as Vice Dean for Budget and Professor Dr Jörg Naeve as Dean of Studies. Professor Dr Marlene Ferencz is a new member of the board. The long-term ESB professor and expert in higher mathematics takes on the role of Deputy Dean and also becomes Head of International Relations. She replaces her predecessor Professor Dr Jörg Büechl as Deputy Dean.

Professor Dr Markus Conrads emphasised that he and his team will be sticking to the goal he formulated when he took office a year ago: “ESB Business School provides a first-class education to ensure that its graduates are competitive in a dynamic business world.” With a view to the working world, which is increasingly characterised by artificial intelligence, it is particularly important to introduce students to new technologies: “At ESB, addressing future topics and issues is consistently linked with a global perspective.”

The focus of the new term of office is the continuous further development of the Business School. The strategic plan for the next five years therefore concentrates on innovation, global cooperation and economic relevance.
