The University
The University of Barcelona stands out as the leading university in Spain in almost all the most prestigious international rankings. Founded in 1450, the UB is the oldest university in Catalonia and one of the oldest in Spain. It combines its historical dimension with its status as a leading, innovative educational institution. The UB campuses are spread out across the entire inner-city area, thus fostering a series of close ties between the institution of our University and the city around us. A university that is as outward-looking and cosmopolitan as the city from which it takes its name!
