The City
As the capital city of Romania, Bucharest has an enormous historical and cultural legacy, observable throughout the city. Owning the status of a popular coffee enthusiasts’ venue, with quirky little shops around every corner, grabbing a drink pairs up well with a visit to the art museums or the many big parks, easily accessible by foot or by subway, which is around 7 euros per month for students. The mountains and seaside are also only 2-3 hours away.
The University
Founded in 1913, The Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE) is one of the largest universities in Romania and the only one specialized in Economics and Business. In 2022, ASE ranked 1st in Romania in Times Higher Education Emerging Economies, 351-400th in Economics (QS World by Subjects), and in THE World by Subject: 601+ in Business and Economics. The 13 faculties run undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes, including some in foreign languages. With its main campus in the centre of Bucharest, most of the buildings are within walking distance, and there are also facilities for bikes and e-scooters.
